Hedge Laying - 24th February


Hedgelaying is a technique used to restore a hedge that has become sparse at the base, or has grown without being trimmed. Hedgelaying thickens a hedge giving more shelter for wildlife and a stronger barrier for livestock.
 
During this one-day course, you will learn the techniques of hedgelaying and have a go at transforming a wild unkempt hedge into a growing boundary, using the tools of the trade.
 
What's included: Lunch, refreshments, tools and materials are all provided, This course takes place outside so please dress for the weather and bring a strong pair of thorn proof gloves and wear sturdy footwear.

Planting a Veg Garden - 7th April


This course will help you understand what plants you can grow through the cold, grey months of the year and which need more light and heat for late spring and summer harvests.
 
We will take you around our own veg garden and explain the use of raised beds, polytunnel and out-door growing styles we use. How to make your own fetiliser and improve your soil quality naturally without the use of any non-organic fertilisers. We will cover a range of crops including quick cut-and-come again crops such as salad leaves, herbs and leafy greens plus growing in season and how to store/preserve your fruit and veg.

Egg Hunt - 31st March


A fun chocolate egg hunt at Willowbrook Farm. Explore our woolands searching for mini chocolate eggs. Once you find the 10 mini eggs (you can help your friends and family!) bring them to the cafe to get an additional large chocolate egg and more goodies!
 
Children must be accompanied an adult. Max 2 children per adult. Adults do not need a ticket for this event.
