Happy New Year!
Another year comes to a close we’d like to say a massive thank you to all our wonderful, loyal customers. The message of halal stewardship which you have been championing is increasingly being heard. Those of you who have visited our farm, or attended any of the talks given by Lutfi, up and down the country, will recognise many of the issues highlighted in this recent talk by Hamza Yusuf (click on link below). Along with many of our scholars he identifies the destruction of the environment as the greatest challenge facing humanity.
We believe halal stewardship means so much more than animal welfare. It embraces a holistic range of livelihoods and rural skills that colectively create a vibrant and sustainable environment, society and economy. So this year we want to highlight sustainable ways of living, with events and courses on traditional hedge laying, willow weaving, building with Cob, wool spinning, making natural dyes, preserving fruits, curing meats, bread making, making your own dairy products (soft cheese, Ayran and Keffir), soap making and much more.
We are also planning major improvements on the farm. We are extending our farm walks and putting the finishing touches to the animal menagerie and improving the facilities on the campsite
Please spread the message and bring your friends and family down to visit us and together be part of the change we want to see.
If you have any ideas for events or have skills you can offer or simply have a question for us, please get in touch!
